In this room, we fauxed both the ceiling and the walls, though the ceiling is a shade lighter than the walls.

In the picture on the left, in contrast to the ones above, we applied a faux treatment to the walls instead of the ceiling, painting the ceiling with a flat paint color and doing the trim in crisp white.

To the right you see the transition to the hallway, where the ceiling is not highlighted with faux paint.

Tray ceilings look particularly stunning with an application of faux paint, as you can see in the pictures above.  In this case, only the tray ceiling was fauxed, while the walls and the lowest part of the ceiling were left with the standard flat paint.
